- Why should someone, gay or straight, pay less taxes than a single person with the same income simply because he or she is married anyway? There should be no preferential treatment for marriage, just deductions for dependent children.

- My granparents were married over 60 years. My grandmother died in the hospital. When we went down for the funeral, it was a double casket. My grandfather had died at home at about the same time as grandma. Neither knew that the other had died.
